Joint Patrol with Neighbourhood Watch at Victoria Park

Today I have been carrying out foot patrols in Victoria Park, where I was joined by a local Neighbourhood Watch Coordinator following a meeting.
 

During the patrol, we discussed the issues currently having the greatest impact on the local community. One concern raised was drug related issues and associated anti-social behaviour in the Wetlands area of Victoria Park.
 

While patrolling one of the locations identified as a hotspot, officers stopped five individuals and carried out searches under Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act. Two individuals were found in possession of cannabis and will be dealt with through the appropriate enforcement process.
 

This is a great example of how information from residents and Neighbourhood Watch can help direct our patrols to the places where they are needed most and to get a better understanding of the context of issues impacting your local community.
